Fall is Here

Wow this summer has passed by fast! As sad as it is, I think fall is almost here.

KristieJorgensen.jpgThis morning I went out to feed my donkeys, and there was frost on the grass! Actual ice crystal frost! There is something just wrong about that! It seems like it was just a few short weeks ago when it was still springtime.

Well the one good thing about it is that the weather has cooled off a little during the day, so that the temperature in the afternoons and early evenings is perfect for riding and driving. I took my donkey gelding Andy over to our local equestrian center and rode him around the track for a while on Sunday afternoon. He had a blast! And a good workout too.

Monday evening I took him and Elsie back over to the equestrian center for their weekly lessons with my instructor. Elsie had a great time pulling me around in her cart as we took her to explore the equestrian center grounds and look for more things to expose her to. We visited with some wide-eyed horses who were getting ready to practice with a drill team. The horses were more scared of Elsie than she was of them. One of the riders rode over near Elsie with a big flag in her hand, but Elsie didn't care. She was perfectly content with that thing swinging in the breeze.

After Elsie's training lesson was done, we took Andy back down to the track for his lesson. I figured he'd be slow and tired after his workout the day before, but he was all ready to get up and go! We cantered part way around, then rested for a minute or two, and cantered quite a bit of the way back. Then we worked on his leg yield, haunches in and other dressage techniques. He was having a great time, and wanted to trot right out, even when all I really wanted him to do was just a walk.

Well, I guess that's the latest with my longeared critters. How about yours? I'd love to hear what you've been up to this summer! Send us your stories and photos at orders@longearsmall.com and we will be happy to share your story here for everyone else to enjoy, too.

It's Fixed!

We finally found what was causing the website to log users out prematurely, and it is fixed now.

After many hours of research and trying many different things, we finally discovered that one of our Internet Service Provider's servers had it's clock set out of sync with their other servers in that group. That was causing our website to think that user's sessions had timed out when in reality they had not. We contacted their support people, and they have fixed the time on their servers to where they are all in sync now, and our website is working much better!

If you'd like to read all the technical details about the problem, you can view our posts in the PowWeb support forum.

Thanks for your patience while we worked to resolve this problem! Now it should be working fine again. Please let me know if you experience any more technical problems with the Longears Mall website.
