Starting to get Cabin Fever?
If you are like me, it's been cold and snowy just long enough for you to be itching to get out and start riding your donkeys and mules again!
I just got my show entry book for Bishop Mule Days in yesterday's mail, and I'm already starting to plan which classes I want to enter this year. But it's still very snowy and cold outside right now, so I have to wait patiently (or sometimes not so patiently) until spring comes.
But while we're all waiting, I thought you might enjoy some videos from last year's show season! I just learned how to use the new video software on my computer, and made a few short video clips from Montana Mule Days 2006. Here's the first one...
This first video is of Sagebrush Desert Delight (aka Lily) doing Donkey Trail. They had a mail box, tire feeders, "herd" of sheep, deer hide, tree across the trail, bridge, and gate obstacles along the "trail". Lily had never seen the hide before (a lot of the donkeys & mules have trouble with it), and I had never practiced the swinging gate with Lily before this class.
(BTW, in case you wonder, the announcer was commenting on the showmanship class taking place in the other half of the arena).
Tomorrow I'll post another video from Montana Mule Days! When the weather clears, start getting your donkeys and mules ready! I hope to see lots of you there this next summer!
